50M Barrels of Venezuelan Oil Sailing Toward US, Trump Says

(MENAFN) President Donald Trump disclosed Tuesday that Washington maintains positive relations with Venezuela's governing authorities and confirmed approximately 50 million barrels of Venezuelan crude are currently sailing toward Houston, Texas.

When reporters questioned the president in the Oval Office about potential collaboration with Colombian President Gustavo Petro to counter "terrorist organizations" operating in Venezuela, Trump responded affirmatively.

"Well, they want me to do that, and we will."

"We're getting along very well in Venezuela with the leadership. We took in 50 million barrels of oil. It's right now heading to Houston, and we're getting along very well with them," he added.

The US president also characterized his earlier White House meeting with Petro as productive, stating it was "very good," adding: "We got along very well."

The oil shipment marks a significant development in US-Venezuelan commercial relations, potentially signaling shifting dynamics between Washington and Caracas under the current administration.

Trump provided no additional specifics regarding the oil transaction's financial terms, delivery timeline, or broader implications for American energy policy and diplomatic engagement with Venezuela's leadership.
